Molekwa CPA was established in 2007 following the successful return of land to the Molekwa Community.
Today, the Association represents a community with a strong connection to its land, history and cultural heritage. With more than 15,000 hectares of land already returned to the Molekwa Community, the Association is focused on responsible land development and creating long-term opportunities for the community.
Our development vision includes game farming, tourism, cattle farming, agriculture and the development of existing and future community assets.
The land represents more than an asset. It is part of the community's heritage and provides a foundation for sustainable economic development. The Association is working towards the responsible development of its land through opportunities in:
The Molekwa CPA logo features the Grey Lourie (Mokwenete), a bird commonly found around the Mathubaditšhilo and Thababodiba Mountains, the Dikgalaopa Valleys and surrounding areas of Skaapvlakate.
For the Molekwa Community, the Grey Lourie represents values that are central to our identity: Peace. Trust. Love. Integrity. Tolerance. Compassion.
The bird represents the relationship between the community, its heritage and the land that has been returned to its people.
